Trichloroisocyanuric acid is a compound which comes in form of a white solid at standard conditions. It has a smell similar to chlorine. The most important applications of this compound are related to its disinfecting, algicidal and bactericidal properties. Because of the mentioned properties, it is used for treating water in swimming pools, as well as wastewater. It is also used for cleaning and disinfection in various places where this is of greater importance (e.g. places where food is being produced, processed, stored and sold).

Trichloroisocyanuric acid can be bought in stores which sell equipment and products for swimming pool maintenance and water treatment, usually in form of large tablets. It can also be found in larger stores which sell construction equipment and materials. Trichloroisocyanuric acid of higher purity can be ordered from chemical selling companies, usually only in larger quantities.
